Job description
A Senior Human Resources Business Intelligence Analyst (Sr HR BI Analyst) partners with Human Resources, Payroll, and Information Technology to deliver scalable business intelligence solutions that drive data-informed workforce decisions. The Sr. HR BI Analyst is responsible for designing and maintaining Workday reports, EIB integrations, and interactive Power BI dashboards. Utilizing SQL and AWS, this position builds optimized data pipelines and reporting structures to ensure secure, high-performing data delivery. Additionally, this position analyzes workforce trends, ensures strict data governance, and troubleshoots technical integration issues to continuously improve the organization’s HR analytics capabilities.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Partner with HR, Payroll, Time and Attendance, IT, and business stakeholders to gather reporting requirements, define metrics, and deliver BI solutions that support workforce and operational decision-making.

Design, develop, test, and maintain Workday reports, dashboards, calculated fields, EIB integrations, and Workday Orchestrate solutions for HCM, Payroll, and Time and Attendance reporting needs.

Write, optimize, and validate SQL queries using tools such as DBeaver to extract, analyze, reconcile, and prepare data for reporting and analytics.

Build and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, datasets, and visualizations that provide accurate, timely, and actionable HR insights.

Develop and support data models, reporting structures, and data pipelines using AWS and related data tools to improve reporting scalability, reliability, and performance.

Analyze HR, payroll, workforce, and operational data to identify trends, explain variances, highlight risks, and recommend opportunities for process or reporting improvements.

Ensure reporting outputs are accurate, consistent, standardized, and aligned with data governance, privacy, security, and compliance expectations.

Troubleshoot reporting, integrations, dashboard, and data quality issues by identifying root causes and partnering with stakeholders to implement sustainable solutions.

Create documentation for reporting logic, data definitions, business rules, workflows, and support procedures to improve transparency and long-term maintainability.

Continuously improve HR BI products, reporting processes, and analytics capabilities by evaluating new tools, enhancing existing solutions, and applying BI best practices.

Pay Range The annual pay range for this position is $84,000 (minimum), $126,900 (midpoint), and $169,800 (maximum).*
*Typical hiring range is between the minimum and midpoint of the above pay range. Actual starting base pay may vary based on factors such as education, experience, skills, location and budget. Compensation above the midpoint is generally associated with experienced, long-tenured employees who have demonstrated sustained performance and expertise in the role.

Requirements

Master of Science degree in Business Analytics
-
Two (2) years of experience in business intelligence, HR analytics, BI development, reporting, data analysis, or a related analytics role.

Advanced experience developing, maintaining, and optimizing HR reporting, dashboards, datasets, and analytics solutions using SQL, AWS and PowerBI tools to access, prepare, analyze, visualize, and deliver data-driven insights.

Two (2) years of experience with Workday reporting and integrations for HCM, Payroll, and Time and Attendance, including building, validating, troubleshooting, and supporting operational and analytical reports, Workday Orchestrate processes, EIB integrations, data movement, reporting dependencies, and data validation.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience with additional HR Workday modules beyond HCM, Payroll, and Time and Attendance.

Experience designing, developing, and supporting scalable BI solutions, datasets, reporting structures, and data models that improve HR decision-making.

Experience with ETL, data integration, data warehousing, data preparation, data quality assurance, and troubleshooting reporting or data discrepancies across structured sources, flat files, APIs, databases, or cloud-based platforms as well as statistical analysis, forecasting, predictive analytics, or other advanced analytics methods.

Strong data analysis and visualization skills, including the ability to identify trends, validate results, investigate variances, and build clear, reliable dashboards, reports, and KPI views.

Strong understanding of HR data, business processes, data flows, data quality, data governance, and reporting standards in an enterprise environment.
