Job description
Experteer Overview In this role you will lead the mechanical design of Beats accessories from concept to mass production, bridging industrial design intent with manufacturable hardware. You’ll collaborate across disciplines to define features, guide prototyping and China-based build execution, and ensure reliability throughout the product lifecycle. Your work will influence product scale, performance, and customer experience in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. This is an opportunity to shape next-generation hardware with a strong emphasis on manufacturability and quality. Compensation / Benefits * Lead mechanical design from early concept through mass production * Bridge industrial design intent with manufacturable hardware across the product lifecycle * Oversee prototyping, feature definition, and volume ramp including on-site build support * Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Industrial Design, Electrical Engineering, Software, Marketing) to meet objectives * Mentor junior engineers and share expertise in reliability and manufacturing processes * Coordinate with contract manufacturers in China and manage vendor relationships Tasks * MS or Ph.D. in Product Design, Mechanical Engineering or related field with 6+ years of experience, or BS with 8+ years of mechanical/product design experience * Experience with acoustic or RF/antenna co-design considerations * Background in industrial design collaboration or human factors * Experience with SPC and yield analysis during ramp * Strong CAD skills (SolidWorks, Creo, NX, or similar) and FEA tools (ANSYS, Abaqus, or built-in CAD FEA) * Deep knowledge of metal and plastic manufacturing processes (CNC, sheet metal, injection molding, die casting) and DFM/DFA constraints * Hands-on with GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, and reliability/failure analysis methodologies (root cause analysis, DOE, 8D) * Experience working with contract manufacturers in China, including on-site build support and vendor management * Familiarity with integrating mechanical design around electro-mechanical subsystems (acoustics, displays, input devices, batteries/power electronics, antennas) Key requirements *
