Job description

Experteer Overview In this role you help strengthen Verizon’s security posture across Core, Edge, and Access networks. You’ll lead real-time threat monitoring, incident response, and vulnerability management to protect critical systems. You collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed secure design patterns and respond to incidents with clarity and speed. You’ll leverage SIEM tooling and threat hunting to reduce dwell time and improve detection. This opportunity lets you shape security at scale within a leading global communications company. Compensation / Benefits * Perform real-time threat monitoring and detection using SIEM (e.g., Splunk) * Lead incident response during breaches and coordinate containment, eradication, and recovery * Manage continuous vulnerability management across networks and applications * Define and implement robust security architecture including firewalls, encryption, IAM, and MFA * Execute advanced threat hunting with networking analysis, memory forensics, data querying, and automation to enhance tooling * Create and maintain security guidelines, policies, and procedures * Support secure design patterns with partners across Operations, Engineering, and Planning * Collaborate with lead engineers on strategic technical challenges * Communicate complex security concepts to diverse audiences * Support incident response activities and produce root cause analyses and remediations * Improve network visibility, telemetry, and detection capabilities * Conduct security control assessments and close gaps found during incidents or hunts Tasks * Bachelor’s degree or 1+ years of relevant work experience * Experience with incident response lifecycles (NIST/SANS) and automation playbooks using SOAR platforms * Experience with risk-based alerting, asset/identity correlation, and tuning correlation searches * Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams * Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Key requirements * health/dental/vision coverage * 401(k) match * paid holidays * paid parental leave * tuition assistance * personal days
