Job description

Experteer Overview As Senior Director of Next-Gen Data Architecture, you will lead a global data ecosystem transformation and establish the Data Architecture CoE to enable engineers, analysts, and platform teams. You will modernize data platforms, set scalable architecture standards, and translate complex requirements into high-impact solutions. You’ll guide a team of senior data architects while staying closely connected to delivery and execution. This role offers strategic influence across executive stakeholders and engineering teams to shape enterprise-scale data initiatives. Compensation / Benefits * Act as the strategic and technical CoE, providing architectural guidance and reference architectures to data engineers, platform engineers, and analysts * Direct, mentor, and develop a team of key data architects, fostering technical excellence and collaboration * Lead design and implementation of modern data platforms and engineering frameworks for large-scale needs across supply chain, manufacturing, retail, and execution systems * Drive development of graph-based data solutions and semantic models to improve data connectivity and cross-functional insights * Identify and implement AI and automation opportunities across the data engineering lifecycle * Define scalable API and knowledge-layer architectures for trusted data access supporting operational and analytical workloads * Build and enhance real-time data platforms to support event-driven processing and operational intelligence * Improve developer productivity through tooling, automation, and platform capabilities while upholding enterprise standards Tasks * 12+ years in data engineering, architecture, and advanced analytics; at least 5+ years in a senior leadership role * Proven track record in hiring, managing, and mentoring senior technical talent (Enterprise Data Architects, Principal Engineers, or Engineering Managers) * Experience leading a Center of Excellence (CoE) or enterprise-wide foundational architecture team with governance and enablement * Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value for executives and evangelize standards across teams * Hands-on experience with streaming architectures and technologies (Kappa, Kafka, Azure Event Hubs, Spark Structured Streaming or Flink) * Experience with ontology design and semantic context layers; knowledge of Jena/Palantir/Stardog or similar platforms is a plus * Hands-on with graph databases and query languages (Neo4j, Azure Cosmos DB Graph API) * Familiarity with automated development tooling (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Codex) and automated testing frameworks * Experience creating data APIs (REST, GraphQL, gRPC) and deploying at scale with Docker and AKS * Experience with modern data platforms (Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse/Databricks/Delta Lake) and programming languages (Scala, TypeScript) Key requirements * medical benefits * financial benefits * relocation provided * annual incentive (50% of base) * long-term incentive (20%) * opportunity to work in Atlanta, GA
