Software Engineer II, Ad Engineering

Experteer Overview In this role you will help reinvent the Post’s digital advertising tech stack and revenue-driving tools. You will work within the Ad Engineering team to ship high-quality software that supports ad experiences, content platforms, and AI-powered features. Collaborating with product, sales, and operations, you’ll implement best practices for AI across multi-team projects and integrate with a range of ad tech vendors. You’ll influence processes and deliver impact in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. Compensation / Benefits * Build and maintain revenue-driving products for the Post * Establish best practices for AI and LLM integrations across complex, multi-team systems * Develop tools in collaboration with sales and operations to improve effectiveness * Create code for standard ad systems, programmatic advertising, media player experiences, and games pages * Participate in all software development stages from ideation to testing and support * Adhere to engineering best practices and coding standards across projects * Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, Advertising Operations, and stakeholders to translate requirements * Build and deploy applications on AWS (ECS, EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda) * Influence other teams to adopt technology processes or products * Communicate with internal and external parties including customers and vendors * Document and evolve best practices for LLM systems within the organization Tasks * 2+ years of experience delivering highly-performant, customer-facing applications * Proficiency in modern JavaScript/TypeScript development principles * Hands-on experience deploying and maintaining AWS services (ECS, EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda) * Experience with Docker and CI/CD (Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline) * Familiarity with Ad Tech tools (Prebid, Google Ad Manager, Prebid Server) is a plus * Experience writing unit and integration tests * Experience with LLM-based text processing pipelines and ChatGPT-style APIs for AI-powered UX * Experience working with sales teams is a plus * Experience with text analysis and safety is a plus Key requirements * Competitive medical, dental and vision coverage * Pension and 401(k) match * Paid vacation and sick leave * Paid holidays and personal days * Paid parental leave * Mental health resources
