Job description

CSols is an independent consultancy dedicated to architecting and validating the digital lab. Unlike generalist firms, we lead with deep scientific expertise to deliver a holistic, vendor-neutral approach. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior STARLIMS Developer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the design, development, customization, and maintenance of STARLIMS v11 and higher across various STARLIMS verticals, including Life Sciences (LS), Quality Manufacturing (QM), Public Health (PH/LPH), and more. This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a collaborative mindset to work effectively within cross-functional teams and contribute to the success of STARLIMS implementations. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, configure, and customize CSols client STARLIMS v11+ systems to meet business and laboratory requirements.

  • Work collaboratively with business analysts, testers, and client end-users to understand system requirements and implement optimal solutions. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other CSols consultants and client team members.

  • Design and optimize STARLIMS workflows, reports, and dashboards to enhance system functionality, including the development of custom scripts, APIs, and integrations with other enterprise applications.

  • Participate in data migration and validation efforts to ensure seamless transitions during STARLIMS upgrades and implementations.

  • Utilize ticketing systems such as JIRA to track development progress, issues and enhancements while authoring and maintaining relevant technical documentation, including system architecture, configuration guides, and coding standards.

  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations such as GMP, GLP, CLIA, ISO, GxP compliance, and 21 CFR Part 11 by implementing secure and compliant solutions.

They will have strong programming and problem-solving skills and be capable of developing custom solutions, integrations, and workflows to meet customer requirements.   • Extensive experience with STARLIMS Scripting Language, HTML5, JavaScript and other related programming languages for system customization and enhancements, including a strong understanding of the STARLIMS Designer.

  • In depth technical knowledge and related experience implementing and/or enhancing STARLIMS Environmental Monitoring functionality.

  • Expertise in integrating STARLIMS with external systems using web services (REST/SOAP), APIs, and middleware.

  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server and Oracle databases, including stored procedures, performance tuning, and data migration strategies.

  • Experience implementing STARLIMS security roles and permissions to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Ability to troubleshoot STARLIMS Application Server and IIS-based deployments to optimize system performance., * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field with 7+ years of experience in STARLIMS development, including configuration, customization, and integration. Experience working in a laboratory is highly desired.

  • Strong expertise in STARLIMS v11+ across multiple STARLIMS verticals, such as Life Sciences, Quality Manufacturing (QM), Public Health, and more.

  • Proficiency in JavaScript, .NET, SQL, and web services for developing STARLIMS extensions and integrations.

  • Experience in designing and implementing STARLIMS Advanced Analytics, ELN, and SDMS a plus and familiarity with wireframing and prototyping tools such as Balsamiq.

  • Experience working in regulated environments, ensuring adherence to CLIA, ISO, GxP compliance, and 21 CFR Part 11.

  • Proficiency in ticketing systems such as JIRA for managing development tasks and tracking issues coupled with excellent communication skills with a strong ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with STARLIMS upgrades, migrations, and cloud deployments.

  • Familiarity with other LIMS platforms such as LabWare, LabVantage, or SampleManager is an advantage.

  • Understanding of industry best practices in laboratory informatics and software development.

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.
