Job description

We are seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join a growing technology organization and play a critical role in advancing enterprise cybersecurity capabilities. This individual will serve as a key contributor in designing, implementing, and maturing security architecture, threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management, and network security initiatives across a complex enterprise environment.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on security professional who enjoys solving difficult security challenges, proactively identifying threats, improving defensive capabilities, and influencing security strategy. This role offers the opportunity to partner closely with infrastructure, cloud, networking, and technology leadership teams while driving security initiatives that directly impact the organization’s risk posture. What You’ll Do

Security Engineering & Architecture

  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise security controls, standards, and hardening practices.
  • Partner with technology teams to ensure security requirements are embedded within infrastructure, applications, cloud environments, and new technology initiatives.
  • Perform security architecture reviews and provide guidance on secure design principles.
  • Evaluate, deploy, and integrate new security technologies and tools.
  • Develop and enhance security policies, standards, and operational procedures aligned with industry best practices.

Threat Detection & Vulnerability Management

  • Centralize and optimize security logging, monitoring, and alerting capabilities.
  • Conduct proactive threat hunting and behavioral analysis to identify emerging risks and malicious activity.
  • Investigate suspicious events and perform log analysis across multiple security platforms.
  • Lead vulnerability management efforts, including scanning, prioritization, remediation planning, and validation.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to reduce organizational risk and improve security posture.

Incident Response & Security Operations

  • Lead and coordinate incident response activities, including detection, containment, eradication, recovery, and lessons learned.
  • Develop and maintain incident response playbooks, runbooks, and operational procedures.
  • Conduct post-incident reviews and recommend improvements to security controls and processes.
  • Support and enhance endpoint security technologies, EDR platforms, antivirus solutions, and security monitoring capabilities.
  • Serve as a technical escalation point during security investigations and critical incidents.

Network Security

  • Monitor and analyze network activity to identify unauthorized devices, anomalous communications, and emerging threats.
  • Drive network segmentation initiatives and assist with security architecture improvements.
  • Develop and manage firewall policies, user access controls, and network security standards.
  • Perform network-based threat analysis and recommend remediation strategies.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and networking teams to strengthen enterprise security controls., + Security+

What Success Looks Like

  • Security controls are consistently implemented and aligned with enterprise standards.
  • Threat detection capabilities continue to mature and identify risks earlier.
  • Vulnerability remediation efforts are prioritized and executed effectively.
  • Security incidents are handled efficiently through established response processes.
  • Infrastructure, networking, and application teams view security as a trusted partner and strategic advisor.

Why This Opportunity?

This is an opportunity to join an organization that views cybersecurity as a strategic investment rather than a compliance exercise. The Senior Security Engineer will have significant influence on security architecture, operational maturity, and long-term security strategy while working alongside talented technology professionals in a collaborative environment.

If you enjoy building, improving, and protecting enterprise environments while remaining hands-on with modern security technologies, we’d love to connect.
