Job description
The Senior Scheduler will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing detailed construction schedules for large-scale data center projects. This role will work closely with project management, field supervision, engineering, procurement, subcontractors, vendors, and the owner’s representatives to ensure project activities are properly sequenced, accurately forecasted, and completed on schedule.
The ideal candidate has strong experience scheduling complex commercial, industrial, mission-critical, or data center construction projects and understands the coordination required across civil, structural, architectural, MEP, commissioning, and closeout activities., * Develop, maintain, and update detailed baseline and current project schedules using industry-standard scheduling software.
- Build schedules that incorporate design, procurement, permitting, construction, commissioning, turnover, and closeout activities.
- Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, engineers, and owner representatives to gather schedule updates and validate progress.
- Establish activity logic, durations, sequencing, constraints, calendars, milestones, and critical path requirements.
- Track progress against the approved baseline schedule and identify variances, delays, trends, and potential impacts.
- Prepare schedule narratives, progress reports, recovery schedules, look-ahead schedules, and schedule updates for internal and external stakeholders.
- Analyze critical path activities and recommend corrective actions to protect key project milestones.
- Review subcontractor and vendor schedules for logic, completeness, coordination, and alignment with the overall project schedule.
- Integrate long-lead equipment and material procurement into the project schedule, including major electrical and mechanical systems.
- Coordinate schedule development for data center infrastructure, including power distribution, generators, UPS systems, cooling systems, controls, fire protection, security, structured cabling, and building systems.
- Support project teams with sequencing, manpower planning, work packaging, and short-interval planning.
- Monitor design deliverables, submittals, approvals, procurement, fabrication, delivery, installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
- Facilitate schedule review meetings and communicate schedule status, risks, and required decisions.
- Support change management by evaluating schedule impacts associated with scope changes, RFIs, design revisions, delays, and differing site conditions.
- Assist with time-impact analyses, delay documentation, claims support, and entitlement analysis when required.
- Coordinate turnover, systems testing, commissioning, owner training, punch-list completion, and final closeout activities.
- Maintain accurate schedule records and ensure updates are supported by appropriate project documentation.
- Promote consistent scheduling practices across project teams and mentor junior schedulers or project controls personnel.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, project management, business, or a related field; equivalent construction scheduling experience may be considered.
- Significant experience developing and managing schedules for large-scale commercial, industrial, mission-critical, or data center construction projects.
- Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, critical path methodology, schedule logic, progress measurement, and schedule performance analysis.
- Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors, vendors, design teams, and field operations.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, submittals, procurement logs, and project documentation.
- Strong knowledge of commercial construction activities, including civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, controls, fire protection, and commissioning.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to identify schedule risks, communicate issues clearly, and drive timely resolution.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-accountability project environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience scheduling data center, semiconductor, healthcare, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, power, or other mission-critical facilities.
- Experience with commissioning schedules and integrated systems testing.
- Certification such as PSP, PMI-SP, or AACE certification.
- Experience with cost-loaded schedules, earned value, resource loading, or project controls systems.
- Familiarity with BIM coordination, 4D scheduling, or platforms such as Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Primavera Cloud, or similar systems.
- Experience supporting projects valued at $100 million or more.
- Prior experience working for a general contractor, construction manager, or major specialty contractor.

- The role may require extended hours, occasional weekend work, and travel or temporary relocation depending on project requirements.
