Job description

Experteer Overview As a Software Engineer, you will build Scala/Java web services powering ArcGIS Workflow Manager and geospatial workflows. You’ll work with a cross-functional team to deliver scalable, secure software for complex productivity tools used by diverse organizations. The role includes designing robust solutions, writing tests, and contributing to agile processes. You may contribute across the product stack, including AWS deployment for SaaS offerings. This is an opportunity to shape a premier GIS workflow platform at Esri. Compensation / Benefits * Develop Scala web services to power user experience and geospatial workflows * Design and prototype scalable and secure solutions with emphasis on performance and maintainability * Contribute to code quality via reviews and unit tests * Implement functionality in other areas of ArcGIS Workflow Manager using JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, Python as needed * Participate in agile ceremonies (design reviews, planning, retrospectives) * Provide support for AWS deployment activities of the SaaS offering * Continuously evolve development skills with new languages and technologies Tasks * 5+ years of professional software development experience * Professional experience with Java or Scala * Strong understanding of REST web service design and development (including websockets) * Working knowledge of AWS infrastructure and best practices * Proven collaboration across cross-functional teams * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Strong problem-solving, analytical and organizational skills * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or STEM related field Key requirements * Medical, dental, vision * Life insurance (basic and supplemental) * 401(k) and profit sharing * Vacation leave (minimum accrual 80 hours) * Paid holidays (12 per year)
