Job description
Introduction: As a Senior Collaboration Engineer specializing in Microsoft 365, you will play a critical role in assessing, evaluating, and managing communication and collaboration platforms used across the organization. You will work closely with software vendors, internal teams, and compliance stakeholders to ensure that communication features are compliant with regulatory requirements and corporate policies., Vendor Communications Assessment:
- Inventory and assess existing third-party applications and vendor platforms used across the organization.
- Engage directly with software vendors to identify communication and collaboration capabilities within their solutions.
- Develop and maintain an assessment questionnaire and evaluation framework.
- Document communication capabilities, retention options, compliance controls, and archiving capabilities for each platform.
- Identify potential regulatory, recordkeeping, and compliance risks associated with communication features.
Communications Compliance Strategy:
- Determine compliance strategies for communication features, including restrictions, archiving, and integration with compliance platforms.
- Partner with InfoSec, Legal, and Compliance teams to evaluate remediation options.
Microsoft 365 & Collaboration Expertise:
- Serve as a subject matter expert on Microsoft collaboration technologies including Teams, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and more.
- Understand communication capabilities, retention controls, and compliance features within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
- Provide guidance on communication records management across Microsoft platforms.
Business Analysis & Project Management:
- Gather requirements from stakeholders and facilitate meetings and workshops.
- Develop project plans, status reports, and executive summaries.
- Track assessment progress, remediation activities, and vendor responses.
- Prepare materials and presentations for leadership reviews.
Technical Evaluation & Integration:
- Assess vendor capabilities related to message retention, archiving, compliance monitoring, and more.
- Collaborate with technical teams to evaluate integration options with compliance platforms.
- Support proof of concepts and technical validation efforts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in collaboration technologies, Microsoft 365 administration, or related disciplines.
- Strong knowledge of communication and collaboration platforms.
- Demonstrated Business Analyst capabilities and project management experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Microsoft Purview Compliance solutions.
- Knowledge of SEC, FINRA, recordkeeping, and electronic communications compliance requirements.
- Experience with vendor risk assessments or technology governance programs.
- Microsoft 365 certifications or related industry certifications.
