Job description

Mission Essential is seeking a Technology Operations Specialist to support our corporate office. In this hybrid role reporting to our New Albany, OH office, the Technology Operations Specialist is responsible for supporting and maintaining Mission Essential’s enterprise technology environment. This role provides end-user support, administers Microsoft 365 and Azure services, supports cybersecurity operations, manages endpoint technologies, and participates in the implementation and support of business systems and technology initiatives. This position serves as a technical generalist within a small, highly collaborative IT organization. The Technology Operations Specialist is expected to support all aspects of IT operations, ranging from end-user support and device management to cloud administration, cybersecurity monitoring, compliance initiatives, and project implementation. The successful employee must demonstrate strong technical proficiency, excellent customer service skills, sound judgment, and a team-first mentality while supporting the organization’s mission and operational objectives. Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to: End-User Support

  • Provide Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 support for employees located both remotely and on-site.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, operating system, networking, printing, mobile device, and application issues.
  • Configure, deploy, and maintain desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
  • Support employee onboarding, offboarding, account provisioning, and access management activities.
  • Maintain technical documentation, procedures, and knowledge base resources.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and maintain professional communication during all support interactions.

Cloud & Systems Administration

  • Administer Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Entra ID, and related cloud services.
  • Manage user accounts, licensing, permissions, and service configurations.
  • Support Azure and Azure Government resources including subscriptions, resource groups, storage, networking, security controls, certificates, and identity services.
  • Assist with administration of GCC High environments and cloud-based business applications.
  • Monitor platform health and assist with operational improvements.
  • Administer Microsoft Intune and endpoint management platforms.
  • Manage Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android devices.
  • Configure and maintain security baselines, compliance policies, device configurations, and application deployments.
  • Support endpoint security, patch management, mobile device administration, and device lifecycle activities.

Security & Compliance

  • Monitor, investigate, and respond to alerts generated by SIEM, MDR, EDR, and other cybersecurity platforms.
  • Support security operations utilizing technologies such as Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender, Rapid7, and related security solutions.
  • Assist with incident response activities, cybersecurity investigations, containment efforts, and remediation actions.
  • Participate in vulnerability management, security reviews, and risk reduction activities.
  • Support compliance initiatives including CMMC, NIST 800-171, HIPAA, GDPR, and FedRAMP where applicable.
  • Assist with audits, evidence collection, documentation, and security assessments.

Vendor & Project Coordination

  • Participate in technology projects, migrations, upgrades, and system implementations.
  • Work with vendors and business stakeholders to resolve issues and support operational requirements.
  • Assist with technology evaluations, procurement activities, and asset management processes.
  • Maintain accurate system inventories and technical records.

Team & Operational Support

  • Collaborate with other IT team members to support organizational technology needs.
  • Share knowledge and cross-train on systems and technologies as needed.
  • Balance operational support responsibilities with project-related assignments.
  • Assist with critical incidents, outages, maintenance activities, and urgent business needs that may occur outside normal business hours.
  • Participate in after-hours maintenance and support when required to maintain operational continuity.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum three years of enterprise IT support, systems administration, cloud administration, or cybersecurity experience.
  • Experience administering Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Experience supporting Azure environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune and endpoint management technologies.
  • Experience supporting Windows desktop and server platforms.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation.
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals including DNS, DHCP, VPN, LAN, and wireless technologies.
  • Working knowledge of SIEM, MDR, EDR, incident response, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
