Job description

  • Architectural Governance: Enforce integrated technical standards and design patterns, ensuring consistency across all project-level controls strategies.
  • Systemic Integrity Oversight: Provide an overarching technical safety lens. While Project Engineers (PEs) manage individual delivery, you ensure that technical safety and reliability margins remain uncompromised throughout the lifecycle of complex, multi-discipline integrations.
  • Complexity Management: Act as a technical authority for “high-risk/high-complexity” integration scenarios that require navigation beyond standard procedures.
  • Strategic Interface & Requirements: Own the “glue” between requirements. Define how overlapping value streams interact to ensure that technical dependencies are transparent, traceable, and validated for quality.
  • Technical Enablement: Audit verification / validation (V&V) frameworks and mentor technical leads to foster a culture of rigorous, unified systems engineering.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Define System Standards: Establishan integration framework for control system requirements, architecture, and V&V methodologies for the Nuclear fleet.
  • Strategic Technical Advisory: Provide high-level guidance during critical project phases (ITO, EKO, Factory Customer Witness, and Site Commissioning), specifically targeting the resolution of cross-functional design gaps.
  • Drive Design Cohesion: Partner with Value Stream owners to dissolve silos between Turbine, Mechanical, Generator, Electrical, HMI/Cyber and distributed plant controls domains.Align with Engineering Design Packaging team to deliver integrated solutions that interface well to customer systems
  • Regulatory & Safety Advocacy: Represent the business as an expert regarding nuclear safety-critical design standards; influence product roadmaps to ensure compliance with the evolving global regulatory landscape.
  • Influence-Based Leadership: Mentor and develop the engineering pipeline. Champion a “System-Level Mindset,” ensuring every engineer understands their contribution to the broader nuclear plant operational profile.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Nuclear, or Computer Engineering.
  • 10+ years of technical leadership experience within the nuclear power generation industry.
  • Expert-level command of Instrumentation & Control (I&C) systems within highly regulated, safety-critical environments.
  • Demonstrated experience defining technical requirements, design patterns, and safety frameworks within a complex, matrixed engineering organization., * Influence without Authority: Exceptional ability to align cross-functional technical teams toward a common objective without direct line authority over project execution.
  • Systems Integration Fluency: Deep understanding of the interplay between I&C platforms, electrical power systems, and Nuclear Balance-of-Plant (BOP) operations.
  • Architectural Defense: Proven ability to lead high-stakes technical reviews and successfully defend complex system architectures to internal stakeholders and external regulators.
  • Strategic Clarity: A gift for distilling multi-layered, system-level technical challenges into actionable, executable strategies.
  • Modern Methodology: Practical experience with Agile methodologies as applied to complex, large-scale control system development.
