Job description

Kforce’s client in Birmingham, AL is seeking an experienced Solutions Architect to help drive the architecture and evolution of its Open Banking platform., This role will focus on designing secure, scalable API solutions, defining future-state architecture, and supporting the expansion of the organization’s Open Banking ecosystem as additional third-party aggregators are integrated. The ideal candidate brings strong experience with AWS architecture, API design, OAuth-based authentication, and .NET technologies, along with the ability to translate business and technical requirements into clear architectural solutions. This individual will partner closely with engineering teams, product leadership, and enterprise stakeholders to establish architectural direction while ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with industry best practices., * Design and evolve architecture for enterprise Open Banking platforms and API ecosystems

  • Create current-state and future-state architectural designs and technical roadmaps
  • Develop architecture diagrams and technical documentation that communicate solution design to engineering and business stakeholders
  • Define scalable, secure API architecture using modern design patterns and best practices
  • Provide architectural guidance for authentication, authorization, tokenization, and secure API integrations
  • Lead architectural decisions for integrating additional Open Banking aggregators and external partners
  • Collaborate closely with software engineers, product owners, and technology leadership throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Review technical designs and provide guidance on application scalability, resiliency, performance, and security
  • Evaluate AWS services and recommend cloud-native architectural solutions
  • Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture standards and security requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 7+ years of software engineering, solutions architecture, or related experience
  • Strong understanding of Open Banking concepts and API-driven ecosystems
  • Deep knowledge of AWS architecture, cloud services, and application hosting
  • Experience designing enterprise-grade REST APIs and API integration strategies
  • Strong understanding of API architecture and design patterns
  • Experience with OAuth authentication and authorization frameworks
  • Working knowledge of C# and .NET Core to effectively guide engineering teams and review technical implementations
  • Experience creating architecture diagrams, solution documentation, and technology roadmaps
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence technical direction across multiple teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with OpenShift or container-based application platforms
  • Financial services or banking industry experience
  • Experience with tokenization strategies and secure API integration
  • Experience designing highly available, cloud-native distributed systems
  • Familiarity with enterprise integration patterns and API gateways

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
