Senior Network Engineer

Experteer Overview In this Senior Network Engineer role, you will design, deploy, and operate the backbone for NG911 services across on-prem and cloud environments. You’ll own multi-vendor network infrastructure, driving automation and reliability for mission-critical systems across data centers. You will mentor engineers, lead complex issues, and partner with cross-functional teams to scale and secure the network. This role offers meaningful impact by supporting lifesaving emergency communications at scale. Compensation / Benefits * Provide hands-on engineering across development and production environments, incl. installation, configuration, lifecycle management, and troubleshooting * Establish network engineering standards across multi-vendor platforms (Cisco, Juniper, Citrix, Dell, F5, Palo Alto) * Contribute to long-term infrastructure strategy and lead initiatives to improve scalability, security, automation, and efficiency * Serve as a senior escalation point for complex operational issues, incidents, and upgrades * Mentor engineers and promote best practices, operational excellence, and knowledge sharing * Identify bottlenecks and resiliency gaps; implement scalable, sustainable improvements * Develop and enhance network automation, monitoring, and tooling using Infrastructure-as-Code and scripting * Participate in on-call rotation and lead during high-severity incidents in a 24x7 environment Tasks * Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, IT, or related field and 8-10 years of hands-on network engineering experience * Extensive experience with Cisco and Juniper routing/switching; Juniper / Palo Alto firewalls and F5 or Citrix load balancers * Deep understanding of BGP, OSPF, route redistribution, traffic engineering, and high-availability design * Experience supporting hybrid cloud networking (AWS), including connectivity, routing, and security concepts * Automation/scripting experience with Python, Ansible, Terraform, or APIs (highly desirable) * Strong problem-solving ability in a fast-paced, collaborative setting * Self-driven with ownership mindset; capable of independent initiative and sound technical decisions * Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders * Certifications: CCNP, JNCIP (CCIE/JNCIE preferred); AWS Practitioner or higher; advanced Cisco/Juniper, Palo Alto, and F5/Citrix skills Key requirements *
