Job description

Experteer Overview In this role you will own the design and evolution of AI platform and enterprise systems, combining cloud infrastructure with AI tooling to enable scalable, secure, and observable operations. You will work at the intersection of platform engineering and AI, setting reusable patterns, automation, and governance to empower multiple teams. You’ll drive incident response, SLOs, observability, and cost-aware infrastructure decisions, while mentoring engineers and shaping engineering standards. This is a hands-on, end-to-end leadership role that reinforces Expedia’s AI-enabled operations at scale. You’ll collaborate across security, platform, and business teams to deliver reliable, high-impact AI/ Compensation / Benefits * Own service and integration architecture for AI platforms and enterprise systems with a focus on security, cost-efficiency, and operability * Design and implement reusable IaC modules and automation frameworks; enforce policy-as-code and reduce toil at scale * Lead incident resolution, RCA, and post-incident analysis; prevent recurrence via automation and architectural improvements * Design integration architectures connecting internal platforms and enterprise SaaS systems with security, compliance, and scalability in mind * Define SLOs and engineer observability, including telemetry pipelines, synthetic tests, and alerting * Promote automation and SaaS integration best practices; measure toil reduction and drive adoption * Design cross-team operational flows to optimize handoffs, runbooks, and escalation paths * Author architecture decision records, technical design documents, and self-service content to accelerate delivery * Forecast capacity and cost impacts; surface data-driven recommendations for infrastructure investment * Mentor junior and mid-level engineers; develop scalable documentation templates and standards Tasks * 5+ years of experience in infrastructure, platform, or enterprise systems engineering (or 3+ years with a Master’s degree) * Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant field; technical degree preferred * Demonstrated growth mindset and ability to own initiatives end-to-end with cross-team coordination * Hands-on experience with public cloud IaaS (AWS, Azure, or GCP) including compute, networking, storage, IAM * Ownership of IaC automation (Terraform, Pulumi, or equivalent) and building reusable modules with policy-as-code * Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Go, or similar) with automation experience * Experience designing integration architectures for SaaS platforms or enterprise systems with lifecycle management, security controls, and compliance * Experience defining SLOs and building observability solutions (telemetry, synthetic testing, alerting) * Solid AI/ML literacy including knowledge of LLMs, RAG, agentic systems, and AI-assisted operations; ability to architect guardrails and governance for AI workflows * Experience administering or integrating enterprise AI copilots and knowledge assistants, including access controls and data integration * Demonstrated ownership of service or integration architecture from inception to production with security and operability in mind * Strong technical communication skills for architecture decision records, design documents, and runbooks Key requirements * medical, dental, and vision coverage * paid time off * Employee Assistance Program * wellness and travel reimbursement * travel discounts * IATAN membership
