- Design, build, and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or CloudFormation across multi-account AWS environments.
- Build, enhance, automate, and shift-left CI/CD pipelines.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Terraform, Python, and shell scripting.
- Implement, automate, and enforce security and compliance policies at the cloud resource and source-code repository levels.
- Initially focus on automating compliance integrations within CI/CD pipelines and integrating the organization’s compliance tooling with Terraform.
- Support deployment automation across containerized clusters and data platforms.
- Support complex pipelines spanning cloud, multi-platform, and on-premises environments.
- Work closely with Platform Engineering, DevOps, DataOps, Data Science, AI, and application engineering teams.
- Troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure, deployment, pipeline, and production issues.
- Apply cloud networking, security, architecture, and operational best practices.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and provide technical guidance.
Requirements
We are seeking a Senior AWS DevOps / Platform Engineer to build, automate, and support scalable cloud infrastructure for enterprise AI, Data Science, and application engineering workloads. This role will focus heavily on AWS platform engineering, Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CI/CD automation, Kubernetes, and integrating security and compliance controls directly into automated deployment pipelines.
The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of hands-on AWS DevOps or Platform Engineering experience with strong expertise in Terraform, GitHub/GitLab, Kubernetes, Linux, and scripting with Python, Bash, or Shell. You will work within a cross-functional engineering environment to improve cloud automation, strengthen CI/CD capabilities, support complex deployment pipelines, troubleshoot platform issues, and mentor other engineers., 5+ years of AWS Platform Engineering, DevOps, or closely related experience.
5+ years of hands-on Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
5+ years of experience supporting Kubernetes and containerized orchestration environments.
5+ years of scripting or programming experience using Python, Bash, Shell, or similar technologies.
5+ years of Linux/Unix experience.
5+ years of source-code repository experience using GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
3+ years of hands-on CI/CD experience using tools such as GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Jenkins, or similar technologies.
Strong hands-on Terraform experience.
Strong understanding of AWS cloud networking, security, and architecture patterns.
Experience automating security and compliance controls within cloud infrastructure and CI/CD environments.
Strong troubleshooting and incident-response capabilities.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively across engineering teams.
Ability to work onsite five days per week in Downtown Houston.
Preferred Qualifications:
AWS architecture certification.
Experience supporting AI, Data Science, data engineering, or enterprise data platform workloads.
Experience with Security as Code and automated cloud compliance.
Experience supporting multi-cloud, multi-platform, and hybrid cloud/on-premises environments.
Experience mentoring junior and mid-level engineers.
Ability to occasionally work from a West Houston office as needed.
