Job description

Experteer Overview As a Systems Engineer II, you will work with the design team to develop unmanned systems for defense and commercial use, bridging controls and architectures to support simulation and validation. You’ll engage across development stages from requirements to prototyping and testing, contributing to model-based analyses and instrumented flight test efforts. You will operate in small, focused teams to deliver robust system solutions and help transition new capabilities into production. This role offers hands-on design work with broad engineering, CS, and math challenges in a mission-driven environment. Compensation / Benefits * Provide weekly status updates and manage requirements burn down * Allocate requirements to subsystems and coordinate engineering work * Evaluate system performance thresholds and guide direction * Develop instrumented flight test vectors and data acquisition * Define build-in-test for fault detection, isolation and recovery * Define ground system warnings and notifications * Assist in requirements and specification reviews * Prototype autonomous systems and validate designs via experiments * Support design and analysis tasks using AeroVironment tools * Contribute to model development and simulation analysis * Write system requirements and system test plans; assist validation testing * Document work and aid in transitioning capabilities to production * Operate on problems of moderate scope and under supervision * Mentor Associate and Level I Engineers * Other duties as assigned Tasks * Bachelor in Mathematics/Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent * 2-5 years in a systems engineering role (Aerospace preferred) * Familiarity with C/C++ and Matlab * Familiarity with office software and productivity tools Key requirements * medical, dental, vision * 401K with company matching * 9/80 work schedule * paid holiday shutdown
