Job description
Experteer Overview In this role you will design and deliver Unified Namespace (UNS) and IT/OT integration projects to connect shop floor data with MES and business systems. You will model plant-floor data, define architecture requirements, and build DataOps solutions using HiveMQ, HighByte, and Ignition. You work across IT/OT teams in a regulated manufacturing environment, leading initiatives from concept through commissioning. This is a hands-on, collaborative role with a clear impact on data connectivity, system reliability, and GMP compliance. Compensation / Benefits * Design, develop, and implement UNS solutions using HiveMQ, HighByte, and Ignition * Model and contextualize plant-floor data into ISA-95 aligned payloads for MES/historians and business systems * Integrate shop floor equipment with MES and enterprise apps via MQTT, OPC UA, REST, and vendor protocols * Configure and maintain edge connectivity to PLCs, SCADA, and legacy systems (OPC DA) and manage data flow into UNS * Use Python (Ignition/Jython) for automation, data transformation, and integration tasks * Collaborate with cross-functional IT and OT teams to ensure secure integration across network layers * Provide technical leadership and support for project implementation, testing, commissioning, and startup * Develop and evaluate alternative architectures and system solutions meeting requirements * Maintain and update project documentation in GMP-regulated environments and report status to management * Work in a team-focused, customer-service oriented culture and embody core values Tasks * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field * 3+ years of experience in a similar role * Strong understanding of UNS concepts and MQTT/SparkplugB; hands-on with HiveMQ or similar brokers * Experience with HighByte Intelligence Hub or similar DataOps/data modeling platforms * Experience with Ignition (gateway configuration, tag structures, scripting); Ignition certification a plus * Experience with SQL/Postgres for alarms/events and interactions * Proficiency in Python; familiarity with REST APIs and JSON payloads * Familiarity with SCADA systems, OPC UA and legacy OPC DA connectivity * Experience integrating shop floor with MES, historians, or ERP * Working knowledge of ISA-95 models and UNS hierarchy design for MES integration * Familiarity with ISA-88 batch control concepts (plus in biopharma context) * Knowledge of GMP and validation in regulated environments; biopharmaceutical processes preferred * Ability to work in hybrid IT/OT environments and understanding of OT network architecture; Purdue model awareness a plus * Working knowledge of control system networks (Ethernet/IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet) * Proficiency in troubleshooting control systems and understanding of process controls * DNA of collaboration and teamwork Key requirements * 401k + match * Medical, Dental, and Vision * Paid time off * Paid holidays * Paid family leave and sick time * Training and continuing education
