This part-time remote faculty role focuses on teaching and developing graduate-level architectural coursework centered on environmental systems. Accountabilities: The role is responsible for delivering high-quality online instruction while supporting student success, curriculum development, and program advancement. Teach assigned graduate-level architectural courses focused on environmental systems according to approved curriculum standards and academic schedules. Mentor and guide students by supporting academic achievement, professionalism, engagement, and successful completion of course objectives. Review and assess student work regularly, providing constructive feedback and recommendations to improve learning outcomes. Maintain accurate student records, including grades, attendance, and course-related documentation. Support student retention initiatives through consistent communication, outreach, and assistance for students requiring additional support. Encourage active student participation in educational, professional, and creative processes aligned with architectural practice standards. Contribute to ongoing course development, assessment activities, and improvements supporting accreditation objectives. Maintain effective communication with students, instructional teams, and academic leadership while following institutional policies and standards. Participate in collaborative faculty activities and contribute to a positive learning environment.
Requirements
The ideal candidate brings advanced architectural expertise, teaching capability, and a commitment to student-centered education. Successful candidates should demonstrate strong communication skills, professional experience, and the ability to work independently in an online academic setting. Master of Architecture (M.Arch) degree or terminal degree in Architecture from an NAAB-accredited institution required. Evidence of effective teaching ability, professional expertise, creative or scholarly activity, and professional collaboration. Ph.D. in Architecture or a closely related discipline, or ABD status within one year. Professional experience and licensure for teaching advanced architectural courses. Previous teaching experience and demonstrated expertise in architectural environmental systems . Ability to use collaborative online learning tools and student-centered instructional methods. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage assignments, deadlines, and course responsibilities independently. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage students from diverse backgrounds. Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and mentoring abilities. Proficiency with computer systems, online teaching platforms, and discipline-specific technologies. Commitment to supporting the institution’s Christian mission and values.
