Job description

We are seeking a Mainframe Database Administrator (DBA) manages and supports mainframe databases by monitoring health and performance, maintaining security and user access, running backups and recovery, tuning performance, and resolving incidents to ensure reliable day-to-day operations. Mainframe DBMS expertise (BM Db2 for z/OS) z/OS fundamentals Backup/recovery & high availability Performance tuning, * Install, configure, and maintain mainframe database systems (e.g., DB2 for z/OS, IMS DB).

  • Monitor and manage database performance, storage, and capacity planning.
  • Perform database tuning, query optimization, and performance analysis.
  • Manage database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Ensure data integrity, availability, and security across all database environments.
  • Support application development teams with database design, SQL tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Implement and maintain database security policies and access controls.
  • Conduct database migrations, upgrades, and patching activities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related incidents and production issues.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, standards, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Mainframe DBA.
  • Strong hands-on experience with:

  • DB2 for z/OS
  • IMS Database, Strong knowledge of SQL and database design principles., Knowledge of backup and recovery tools and techniques., Strong analytical and problem-solving skills., * Experience with database automation and monitoring tools.
  • Knowledge of CICS, COBOL, and batch processing environments.
  • Experience in high-volume transaction processing systems.
  • Familiarity with data replication and data sharing concepts (DB2 data sharing).
  • Experience in financial services, insurance, or government sectors., * Attention to detail and data accuracy
