Software Engineer II

Experteer Overview In this role you will design, develop and maintain scalable, secure software using C# and .NET, delivering value alongside Product, Architecture, and Engineering teams. You will build production-ready solutions while shaping technical direction and mentoring engineers. You’ll leverage AI-assisted development and spec-driven processes to boost productivity and quality. You will own end-to-end delivery, ensure reliability, and collaborate across functions to support Cox Automotive’s software platforms. Compensation / Benefits * Design, develop, test, and deploy software across the full technology stack * Translate requirements into technical specifications * Ensure scalability, resilience, maintainability, and security of systems * Apply modern engineering standards and best practices * Break down specs into actionable tasks and deliver incrementally using Agile * Own end-to-end delivery of features or services * Align development with architectural standards and system design * Write and maintain automated tests (unit/integration/E2E) * Troubleshoot production issues and identify risks early * Leverage AI-assisted tools to improve productivity and code quality * Drive spec-driven development with APIs, contracts, and data models * Collaborate with Product, QA, and Architecture in design discussions and decisions * Mentor junior engineers and contribute to coding standards and best practices * Continuously learn new technologies including AI-driven techniques * Contribute to AI usage practices and prompt engineering * Ensure AI-generated outputs are safe and maintainable * Ensure implementations are traceable to specifications and meet acceptance criteria Tasks * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field with 4+ years of experience, or Master’s with 2+ years, or PhD with up to 1 year, or 18+ years directly relevant experience * Strong proficiency in C#/.NET * Experience with cloud platforms (AWS) and distributed systems * Understanding of system design, APIs, and data models * Experience with automated testing and CI/CD practices * Hybrid work schedule * Availability for rotational on-call duties outside standard hours Key requirements * paid vacation with flexibility * seven paid holidays * up to 160 hours of paid wellness * bereavement leave * time off to vote * jury duty leave
