VMware System Administrator

Experteer Overview In this role you will manage and engineer the VMware VDI and Windows Server infrastructure to support Information Warfare Training Command. You will participate in change control, incident response, and accreditation efforts while maintaining cybersecurity posture. You’ll optimize performance, automate configurations, and ensure timely ticketing and coordination with cross-functional teams. This is a mission-driven opportunity to shape enterprise virtualization and security for a DoD service. Compensation / Benefits * Manage VMware vSphere, Horizon, and VDI environments * Perform Windows Server administration and patch testing (Server 2016+) * Support change management and incident response processes * Maintain cybersecurity posture and assist with system accreditation (RMF) * Automate configuration using administrative scripting (PowerShell, VM CLI) * Coordinate with Service Now for tasking and communications * Review hardware/software acquisitions to support the mission * Analyze and resolve interoperability and performance issues across platforms Tasks * Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) * Minimum 2 years of VDI experience * Proficient with VMware ESXi, vSphere, vCenter, Horizon (Instant Clones, Golden Images, App Volumes) * Strong Windows Server/Desktop, AD, GPOs, DNS/DHCP, PKI, LDAP * Advanced scripting (PowerShell) and CLI * Knowledge of RMF and DoD INFOSEC/IA standards * Experience with ACAS/Nessus/SCAP/STIGs/HBSS security tools * Active CompTIA Security+ CE certification * Ability to obtain VMware VCP within six months * Active Secret clearance (TS/SCI eligibility) Key requirements *
