Job description

The PC Support / Helpdesk Technician will work with IT staff members and use his/her technical skills to support company applications, hardware, and peripherals. They will troubleshoot computer problems, determine the source of any issues, give advice, and assist on appropriate action. Additionally, the PC Support / Helpdesk Technician will participate in research and projects to support company goals and initiatives.

Position Responsibilities

  • Answer staff questions in person and via phone on all company supported applications.
  • Install hardware and software on Windows computers.
  • Perform basic hardware repairs and coordinate warranty service when needed.
  • Support computer and IT equipment inventory management including repair/service tracking and reporting.
  • Basic wired and wireless network troubleshooting.
  • PC imaging and deployment.
  • Setup of Laptop, docking stations, monitors and any other end user devices.
  • Troubleshoot computer problems.
  • Work one-on-one with staff on IT projects.
  • Provide recommendations on company technology purchases.
  • Document resolutions for future reference.
  • Work as a team member with other technical staff to ensure connectivity and compatibility between systems.
  • Occasional evening/weekend work.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree and one to three years of applicable experience.
  • Must be detail oriented, organized and a self-starter.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • CompTIA A+ and/or related certifications preferred.
  • Ability to lift 30lbs.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • A valid NYS Driver’s License
  • Ability to drive to offices and travel to remote locations for support if needed.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to simplify technical language into easy-to-understand phrasing.
  • Patience and empathy when helping users.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

Desired Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Experience with Windows 11
  • Experience with Office 365
  • Experience with Helpdesk Ticketing Systems
  • Experience with PowerShell and Scripting
