Experteer Overview Senior Data Engineer at Sovos builds and maintains a world-class financial data platform. You own the full pipeline-from ingestion to close-ready outputs-supporting FP&A, Accounting, and leadership with reliable, high-impact data. You design Snowflake architecture and dbt models to underpin the topline data chain and shape AI-enabled data interactions for finance stakeholders. This is high-visibility work with direct business impact in a fast-evolving regulatory landscape. Pay / Benefits * Design and build the Snowflake schema and dbt model architecture for the topline data chain (Billing, ARR, Deferred Revenue, Revenue Recognition, Close Pack) * Deliver ingestion and transformation models with tests and documentation for all use cases * Own pipeline reliability during financial close; act as on-call escalation point * Establish data quality standards, dbt testing conventions, and Snowflake governance patterns * Collaborate with Analytics Engineer on business-layer model design to meet finance requirements * Extend dbt model layer to cover OPEX, COGS, commissions, and ASC 340-40 capitalized software as scope grows * Write dbt YAML documentation and ensure high-quality production deliverables for AI accuracy * Own row-level security and model freshness SLAs for real-time AI queries Tasks * 5-8 years of data engineering experience with production pipelines and dbt at scale * Advanced SQL skills (CTEs, window functions, LATERAL joins, performance tuning) * Production dbt experience with modular models, tests, and documentation * Snowflake proficiency including roles, warehouses, governance, masking policies, row-level security * Experience supporting financial close cycles and on-call ownership of failures; understands WD1 * Fluency in revenue data chain (Billing, ARR, Deferred Revenue, Revenue Recognition, Close Pack) and ability to engage finance stakeholders on data discrepancies * Strong communication and ability to document for finance analysts Key requirements * 30 days holiday (plus 8 days Bank Holiday) * Health insurance * Dental insurance * Life insurance * Critical illness insurance * Income protection
