Associate (Building Technology Systems)

Experteer Overview In this role, you join the Buildings Technology Systems team to lead from concept through handover on smart building system integration projects. You will shape holistic BTS solutions by coordinating with Architects, Engineers and consultants to deliver user-friendly, future-ready buildings. You will engage clients, manage design activities, and contribute to bids while providing technical leadership across multi-disciplinary design workstreams. Pay / Benefits * Lead design and delivery of smart building and systems integration from concept to handover * Liaise with clients to capture requirements across multi-disciplinary projects * Collaborate with Security, Lighting, ICT, VT, BMS, AV teams to develop integrated solutions * Create future-ready building solutions that enhance user experience and sustainability * Contribute to bids and proposals and identify follow-on opportunities * Provide technical leadership to project teams and junior colleagues * Review designs, document risk assessments, and ensure alignment with smart building expectations * Communicate complex technical details clearly to project teams, stakeholders and clients * Understand specialist building systems (MEP, BMS, fire safety, lighting, security) and ICT infra for smart buildings * Demonstrate understanding of smart building rating systems and relevant certifications Tasks * Experience in smart building technology design and delivery for medium to large projects * Ability to develop systems integration strategies bridging traditional building automation with IoT, cloud, and enterprise systems * Knowledge of cybersecurity considerations for smart buildings and data exchange * Awareness of AI solutions in built environment and practical applications * Strong client engagement and governance-aligned design development * Understanding of documentation and roadmaps for implementation of building systems * Ability to produce detailed design and performance specifications * Eligibility to work in the UK and capability to obtain SC-level security clearance * Chartership or professional recognition related to CIBSE/IET/Engineering Council (or equivalent) Key requirements *
