Experteer Overview As Principal Platform Engineer at Very, you will shape the core platform used by hundreds of engineers, enabling faster, safer builds and scalable releases. You’ll work at the heart of our engineering ecosystem, improving how systems interconnect and how teams deliver value to customers. You’ll lead practical, hands-on improvements that reduce toil and boost reliability, performance, and developer experience. This role offers broad influence across products and teams with a clear impact on the way we build at scale. Pay / Benefits * Shape and evolve cloud infrastructure for security, scalability, and reusability * Improve CI/CD pipelines and automation to simplify releases * Reduce toil by introducing smarter tooling and automating repetitive tasks * Diagnose and resolve complex platform issues with hands-on guidance to teams * Integrate systems and services to work seamlessly together * Identify and implement performance, reliability, and developer experience improvements * Promote and help teams adopt modern engineering practices Tasks * Strong troubleshooting skills * Experience with cloud infrastructure, automation, and configuration management * Background in scripting or programming (Java, Python, Bash or similar) * Proficiency with Linux environments, networking fundamentals, and integrated systems * Understanding of CI/CD and version control enabling solid delivery * Experience in large-scale environments where reliability and dependencies matter Key requirements * Flexible, hybrid working model * 1000 flexible benefits allowance * 30 days holiday + bank holidays * Up to 25% discount on Very.co.uk * Matched pension up to 6%
