Proxmox Software as a Service Linux DevOps Linux System Administration Ansible Ceph (Software) Virtual Environment Kubernetes Terraform

Job description

We’re partnering with one of the UK’s most exciting technology businesses as they continue to invest heavily in their engineering team. If you’re tired of maintaining legacy environments or being another cog in a huge corporate machine, this is your chance to join a genuinely high-calibre team where your work has an immediate impact.

You’ll be trusted to build, automate and optimise production infrastructure supporting mission-critical services where reliability, performance and engineering excellence are everything.

This isn’t a ticket-closing DevOps role. You’ll be solving real problems, improving architecture and helping shape the future of the platform. What You’ll Be Doing

  • Designing, managing and scaling production Kubernetes environments.
  • Building fully automated infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible and modern DevOps tooling.
  • Driving reliability, resilience and observability across the platform.
  • Administering Linux infrastructure across physical and virtual environments.
  • Working directly alongside talented engineers in a collaborative, fast-moving team.
  • Owning projects from concept through to production.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in DevOps, Infrastructure or Platform Engineering.
  • Strong commercial Kubernetes experience within production environments.
  • Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform, Ansible or similar).
  • Excellent Linux administration skills.
  • Experience supporting highly available production platforms.
  • UK based and able to commute to Southampton.

Bonus Points

  • Proxmox VE or Ceph.
  • Networking expertise.
  • Security-focused mindset.
  • Experience within SaaS, hosting or real-time infrastructure.

Benefits & conditions

  • Work with genuinely modern technologies.
  • High levels of autonomy and technical ownership.
  • Join a business where engineering drives the product.
  • Opportunity to influence architecture rather than simply maintain it.
  • Small, highly skilled team where your ideas are heard.
  • Competitive salary of £70,000-£90,000 plus an excellent benefits package.
  • Hybrid working with long-term career progression.

If you’re the kind of engineer who enjoys building robust infrastructure, automating everything possible and working with Kubernetes at scale, we’d love to hear from you.
