AI&T Test Engineer - STE/EGSE

Experteer Overview In this role you design and integrate STE and EGSE for payload verification, enabling reliable satellite delivery. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into scalable test architectures and automation, supporting integration from development through flight. You’ll contribute to test readiness, verification strategies, and efficient, repeatable test campaigns. This is a mission-driven role at Viasat’s Space Infrastructure team, focused on delivering robust space-based connectivity. You’ll operate at the intersection of hardware, software, and test to ensure on-orbit mission success. Pay / Benefits * Design and develop STE and EGSE solutions for RF, digital, telemetry, timing, and power interfaces * Translate payload requirements into test architectures, procedures, and automation * Support checkout and verification across unit, subsystem, and payload levels * Develop and maintain automated test capabilities to improve efficiency and repeatability * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot hardware and test system issues * Contribute to test readiness, integration planning, and verification execution * Own development of STE/EGSE architectures and derive equipment requirements from payload needs * Design and integrate test hardware, harnessing, interface electronics, and instrumentation * Develop automated test procedures and software tools * Integrate commercial test equipment with custom hardware/software solutions * Complete functional, performance, and environmental testing of payload hardware * Analyze test data and document results, maintain configurations and procedures * Develop automation scripts using Python, LabVIEW, C#, or similar Tasks * Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field * Typically 4-8 years’ experience with STE/EGSE or automated test systems * Experience with electronic, communications, aerospace, defense, or satellite hardware * Understanding of hardware integration and verification methodologies * Experience with laboratory instrumentation and automated test equipment * Experience with software scripting or automation development * Strong troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills * U.S. citizenship Key requirements * comprehensive benefits * cash or stock incentives * competitive base pay * focus on holistic health and wellness
