Job description
We are seeking an Embedded Firmware Engineer to join our Energy & Charging Engineering team focused on next-generation battery systems, power electronics, and charging infrastructure. This engineer will play a key role in developing low-level firmware and control systems that power highly efficient energy storage and conversion products. The ideal candidate has strong experience in embedded software development, microcontroller programming, and working closely with hardware teams to bring complex products from design through validation and deployment.
What You’ll Do
Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for battery management systems, power electronics, and energy-related products.
Write high-quality, production-grade code primarily in C and C++ for embedded microcontroller-based systems.
Develop, test, debug, and optimize low-level firmware for real-time applications.
Collaborate closely with electrical, hardware, validation, and systems engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle.
Participate in firmware architecture, design reviews, and system integration efforts.
Develop and execute unit, integration, and system-level testing to ensure product reliability and performance.
Troubleshoot complex hardware/software issues and drive root-cause analysis.
Contribute to firmware documentation, coding standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Support product validation, field issue investigations, and new feature development.

Requirements
3-5 years of professional experience developing embedded firmware.
Strong programming experience in C and C++.
Experience working with microcontrollers and low-level embedded systems.
Solid understanding of real-time operating systems (RTOS).
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
Experience with firmware debugging, testing, and validation methodologies.
Strong understanding of hardware/software integration.
Experience participating in design, implementation, testing, and deployment of embedded products. Battery Management System (BMS) experience.
Experience with power electronics, inverters, converters, or charging systems.
Knowledge of digital control systems and control theory.
Experience developing firmware for renewable energy, energy storage, or EV-related products.
