Job description

Next Generation, Inc. (NGI), an Equal Opportunity Employer, is seeking a highly skilled Oracle Apex Developer with strong expertise in PL/SQL, reporting tools, and application modernization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for migrating legacy Oracle Forms and Reports applications to Oracle Apex, integrating modern analytics platforms, and ensuring optimal database performance. This role will require collaboration with technical teams and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and user-friendly solutions. Job Requirements:

  • Lead the modernization of legacy applications from Oracle Forms and Reports to Oracle Apex while enhancing performance and functionality.
  • Design, develop, and implement robust, scalable, and secure Oracle Apex applications.
  • Write, optimize, and maintain PL/SQL procedures, packages, triggers, and views for complex database solutions.
  • Develop interactive reports and dashboards using Oracle Apex, Power BI, and BI Publisher for improved decision-making.
  • Integrate Apex applications with Oracle databases and ensure performance optimization.
  • Maintain integration with existing Oracle Forms applications until modernization is complete.
  • Implement best practices for version control using GitHub (or similar) and support CI/CD pipelines.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, stakeholders, and IT teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions aligned with business goals.
  • Provide training, knowledge transfer, and technical documentation to support ongoing adoption of modernized applications.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Oracle application development experience, including Apex and PL/SQL.
  • Strong expertise with Oracle Apex (version 22.x or later), including Dynamic Actions, RESTful Web Services, and Interactive Reports.
  • Proficiency in PL/SQL development with a focus on performance tuning and optimization.
  • Experience developing dashboards and reports in Power BI and BI Publisher.
  • Proven track record migrating Oracle Forms and Reports applications to modern platforms.
  • Knowledge of Oracle Database (12c/19c), SQL, and relational database design.
  • Familiarity with APIs, RESTful web services, and JSON/XML processing in Apex.
  • Understanding of authentication and authorization best practices in Apex.
  • Hands-on experience with GitHub or other version control systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and independent working skills. Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in cloud deployments (Oracle Cloud, AWS, Azure).
  • Knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS for Apex UI customization.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • Experience integrating Apex projects into CI/CD pipelines.

Benefits & conditions

  • Competitive Consultant pay range based on experience and education of approximately $80-$90 Hourly USD
