Sr. Data Scientist, Demand Decision Systems

Experteer Overview In this role you design, build, and operate production forecasting and simulation systems for Rivian’s pre-owned remarketing business. You develop Python-based models in Databricks to forecast order volume, sizing, price sensitivity, and customer segmentation, integrating with GitLab pipelines. You’ll own the end-to-end data products that inform pricing, positioning, and demand planning, ensuring robust, production-ready solutions. You work with a highly technical team to drive data-driven decisions that shape long-range planning and sales strategy. Compensation / Benefits * Design, build, and operate production forecasting and simulation systems * Develop Python-based forecasting models in Databricks * Work in Git-versioned repositories with MR review, automated tests, and CI/CD pipelines * Design, validate, and maintain time-series forecasting, pricing sensitivity, segmentation, and demand-sensing models * Build and maintain demand data products and pipelines with data contracts and tests * Apply AI-assisted and agentic development workflows in the engineering stack * Model market sizing and demand sensing for used Rivians and competitors * Balance supply and demand by modeling interactions and performing scenario analysis * Operationalize model outputs with business partners for pricing and sales strategy actions Tasks * Proficiency with Python, SQL, and Databricks (or equivalent) * Experience with Git-based workflows, code review, and CI/CD (GitLab or equivalent) * End-to-end production forecasting or demand model experience * Ability to design/validate statistical and ML models (time-series, segmentation, elasticity) * Experience in technical demand-forecasting, marketing science, or sales-forecasting roles * Ability to translate ambiguous business questions into durable data products Key requirements * paid vacation * paid sick leave * life insurance * medical insurance * dental insurance * vision insurance
