Job description

Experteer Overview In this role you will drive Android compatibility testing and validation, ensuring software quality for GM’s platforms. You will work with cross-functional teams to triage defects, implement upstream fixes, and automate test workflows. You’ll configure and maintain test environments, including simulations and target hardware, to support reliable releases. Your efforts will help reduce defects and improve test processes while aligning with GM’s mission of safer, cleaner mobility. Compensation / Benefits * Execute Android compatibility tests (e.g. CTS) and report results * Triage defects and support root cause analysis * Modify and upstream code to address compatibility failures * Design and develop tools/scripts to automate test workflows * Set up and configure test environments (simulation or hardware) for test execution and automation * Engage in continuous improvement of the test process * Drive defect resolution to meet software release quality metrics Tasks * Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and seven years of experience as a Software Engineer, Senior Systems Engineer, or related role * Seven years of software development and validation experience on Linux-based open source OS with focus on system, framework, and validation tools/methodologies including Android, Custom-Linux, and custom in-house OS * End-to-end software development of validation tools and features with object-oriented/functional/cross-platform scripting languages (Python, Java, C, C++, JavaScript) * Experience creating/executing system-level automated test frameworks and validating system definitions and requirements in automotive/embedded/consumer devices * Experience with Scrum/Agile and SCM tools (GitHub/Git, Gerrit, OpenGrok, JIRA, JIRAAlign) * Experience creating and implementing automation workflows with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub, Jenkins) Key requirements * bonus potential * Total Rewards resources * accommodations for disabilities * inclusive workplace * well-being resources * competitive compensation

Requirements
