Job description

This position is responsible for administering, maintaining, monitoring, and supporting the colleges computer systems.

Responsibilities

1 - Administers and maintains on&iquestpremises and cloud server infrastructure, including OS configuration, system services, platform stability, and server&iquestlevel security and vulnerability management.

2 - Manages the data center and computer host systems, including hardware, software, and equipment.

4 - Ensures high availability and acceptable levels of performance of host computer resources.

5 - Maintains the integrity and security of server infrastructure, protecting systems from unauthorized use, acts of nature, and improper use.

6 - Performs installation and maintenance of physical infrastructure, including server hardware, structured cabling, and related equipment in data center and network environments.

7 - Troubleshoots user problems identifies causes and develops solutions.

8 - Participates in decisions related to hardware and software upgrades.

9 - Performs related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Educational Requirements

  • Baccalaureate degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Other Required Qualifications -Position of Trust successful completion of a background check required.

Required Experience

  • More than three years of related experience required.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

ABILITIES -Ability to lift light and heavy objects, climb ladders and use tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity -Ability to lift 50 lbs.

KNOWLEDGE

  • Knowledge of current and emerging information technologies.
  • Knowledge of current and emerging IT strategies related to server-related hardware, software, topologies, and standards in an academic environment.
  • Knowledge of computerized databases and application servers.
  • Knowledge of relational database methodologies.
  • Knowledge of operating systems and client/server environments.
  • Knowledge of hardware and software configurations.

SKILLS

  • Skill in managing technology projects at the enterprise level.
  • Skill in the operation of computers and job related software programs.
  • Skill in decision making and problem solving.
  • Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
