Forward Deployed Application/ ML Principal Engineer

Experteer Overview In this role you design, build, and run AI-native enterprise apps that fuse cloud-native engineering with production-grade ML and agentic AI. You’ll translate business needs into secure, scalable solutions and own delivery from discovery to production handover. You’ll enforce quality, reliability, and responsible AI practices while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful customer outcomes. Compensation / Benefits * Design, develop, and operate cloud-native enterprise apps with AI capabilities (LLMs, RAG, agent-based workflows) * Embed in customer projects to rapidly understand business and technical contexts * Translate requirements into robust architectures balancing speed, quality, security, and maintainability * Prototype, iterate, and productionize solutions within enterprise constraints * Own end-to-end delivery from problem framing to deployment and production operations * Apply AI-assisted engineering practices and guardrails aligned with SAP standards * Ensure milestones, quality, and technical objectives; manage risks and escalations * Act as technical interface to customers and stakeholders, communicating approaches and trade-offs * Contribute to engineering standards, best practices, and reusable components Tasks * 10+ years in software and application engineering for cloud-native, enterprise, SaaS environments * Proven ability to design and deliver AI-native apps using LLMs, RAG, vector databases, and agentic systems * Strong proficiency in AI/ML Python libraries and data pipelines/MLOps * Experience integrating Agentic AI into complex business processes * Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and mentorship with guardrails and best practices * Mentorship and leadership to drive engineering culture across delivery teams * Exposure to SAP AI technologies such as SAP AI Core, Vectorization, Joule Studio, RPT-1, Business Data Cloud (advantage) * Experience owning full app lifecycle from design to production operations * Strong collaboration and communication with cross-functional and customer stakeholders * Learning mindset, technical leadership, accountability in ambiguous environments Key requirements * great benefits * learning and skill growth * hybrid work model * focus on wellbeing and inclusive culture * opportunity to grow within a global AI-focused team
