Automation Developer

Experteer Overview In this role, you will design, execute, and automate testing to ensure reliable software for CGI Federal’s clients. You will work with development and release teams to validate features across multiple environments and contribute to rapid, data-driven quality decisions. You’ll leverage automation to accelerate feedback, improve coverage, and support release readiness. This position offers hybrid work from Fairfax, VA or Lafayette, LA or Knoxville, TN and a chance to impact critical government-facing software. Compensation / Benefits * Execute automated test suites across SANDBOX, DEV, and PREPROD environments * Coordinate test execution windows with release management and DevOps during deployments or UAT events * Collect and manage test artifacts (reports, screenshots/videos, logs, performance metrics) * Trigger and monitor automated tests in CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) * Maintain automated test scripts (Cypress, JMeter) for end-to-end, API, performance, and regression testing * Configure environment-specific test settings using environment variables and config files * Document defects with steps, logs, and context in JIRA or Azure DevOps * Prepare and maintain test data sets, including API data setup scripts * Support release testing and provide go/no-go recommendations * Leverage AI-assisted tools to accelerate test development Tasks * Minimum 1 year of test automation or related experience * TypeScript/JavaScript proficiency for Cypress or Playwright * Java proficiency for JMeter or scripting * Knowledge of Cypress/Playwright and JMeter for web/API/performance testing * Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) * API testing experience (REST) and validation (Postman/SOAP UI) * JSON/XML response validation and understanding of HTTP methods and auth * Strong analytical and debugging skills (browser dev tools, log/network analysis) * Soft skill for coordinating with release teams on scheduling * Experience with environment/config management and test data handling Key requirements * Competitive compensation * Comprehensive insurance options * 401(k) plan matching * Paid time off * Paid parental leave * Tuition assistance and learning opportunities
