Job description

Experteer Overview In this role you will contribute to Space Domain Awareness (SDA) by modeling, analyzing, and testing EO/IR sensing capabilities. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop prototype systems, validate concepts in the lab, and advance radiometric and focal plane understanding for national security missions. You’ll work on challenging SDA and EO/IR problems that shape future space sensor capabilities. This is an opportunity to apply hands-on engineering to real-world defense and civil space challenges and grow in a dynamic, mission-driven environment. Compensation / Benefits * Support the design, development, and characterization of SDA collection capabilities through modeling, analysis, and laboratory work * Design, develop, demonstrate, and test capabilities for laboratory and field testing * Explore SDA system design trades via modeling, analysis, and prototyping * Implement and assess image processing and data analysis techniques for EO/IR data sets * Collaborate with a diverse team of junior and senior staff on technical studies as contributor and leader Tasks * Bachelor’s in Physics, Astronomy, Remote Sensing, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Imaging Science, Optical Engineering, or related discipline * Eight or more years of relevant EO/IR experience related to Space Domain Awareness * Experience with data analysis, modeling, characterization, design, and/or performance assessments of EO/IR systems * Experience in laboratory experiments characterizing optical components, focal planes, or radiometric properties * Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, and/or C/C++ * Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance; U.S. citizenship required * Senior track requires twelve+ years of relevant experience and radiometric calibration knowledge * Understanding of focal plane technologies and their impact on downstream data Key requirements * Comprehensive health care and wellness plans * Paid holidays, sick time, and vacation * Telework options and flexible work schedules * 401(k) with employer contributions and immediate vesting * Education assistance programs * Professional growth and development programs
