Zachary Piper is seeking a Security Engineer - Tool Integration (Secret Clearance) for a world leading technology organization in the Raleigh Durham, North Carolina area. The Security Engineer - Tool Integration (Secret Clearance) role is an onsite position with 5 days onsite in the office. The Security Engineer - Tool Integration (Secret Clearance) will lead the integration of enterprise security tools into Splunk while developing automation solutions that enhance SOC operations and security visibility. An ideal candidate for the Security Engineer - Tool Integration (Secret Clearance) role is an experienced security engineer with deep expertise in Splunk, security tool integrations, and Python-based automation.
Responsibilities of the Security Engineer - Tool Integration (Secret Clearance):

Lead the integration of security tools and data sources into Splunk to improve monitoring, alerting, and threat detection capabilities.

Design, develop, and optimize Splunk dashboards, correlation searches, reports, and data ingestion pipelines.

Develop Python scripts and automation workflows to streamline SOC processes and reduce manual effort.

Collaborate with SOC analysts, incident response teams, and engineering groups to improve security visibility and operational effectiveness.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data onboarding, system integrations, and security platform performance.
Requirements

Active Secret Clearance required.

5+ years of experience in security engineering, SIEM administration, or cybersecurity tool integration.

Strong hands-on experience with Splunk Enterprise, including onboarding data sources, search development, dashboard creation, and alert management.

Proven experience integrating security technologies such as EDR, IAM, firewall, vulnerability management, cloud security, and email security platforms into Splunk.

Strong Python development experience for security automation, scripting, and SOC workflow optimization.
Benefits & conditions

Salary range: $125,000 - $170,000 depending on experience
