Job description

  • Site Selection & Due Diligence: Participate in Due Diligence and Campus Planning sessions as the acoustic SME. Guide site selection, site design, and equipment layout to minimize environmental noise impacts.
  • Acoustic Review & Risk Mitigation: Evaluate consultant-led noise models and reports to ensure strict compliance with local zoning laws and global standard requirements. Proactively identify high-risk sites and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Standards & Product Development: Design and refine standard sound attenuation products for the Owner portfolio. Help develop and maintain program documentation, including modeling standards (gPOR), vendor requirements, and public policy guidelines.
  • Design & Layout Support: Guide Test Fit and Site Plan development. Deliver technical guidance on sound contours, sensitive receptor locations, mitigation costs/schedules, and the acoustic footprint of cooling systems.

Requirements

We are seeking a highly motivated Data Center Acoustician / Acoustic Modeling Specialist with proven experience in campus-level acoustic planning, design and modeling.

In this role, you will act as the key Subject Matter Expert (SME) for sound control across mission-critical infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to guide site design, evaluate regulatory impacts and manage acoustic risks. A strong understanding of large-scale facilities, sound-generating equipment (such as generators and cooling systems), and rough-order-of-magnitude (ROM) cost estimating is essential., * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Acoustics, Physics or related field.

  • 7+ years of experience in acoustic modeling.
  • Strong understanding of sound-attenuation and mitigation systems for large-scale cooling and diesel generator equipment.
  • Knowledgeable in the compliance requirements of the pertinent codes, regulations, and standards.
  • Familiarity with CadnaA or SoundPLAN., * 10+ years of professional acoustic consulting or engineering experience.
  • Experience with mission-critical facilities.
  • Experience with large-scale, multi-source campus modeling.
  • Expertise in CadnaA or SoundPLAN.

Benefits & conditions

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for this position is $150,000 annually and the maximum salary for this position is $175,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program. This role will provide the following benefits: 401(K), Dental insurance, Health insurance, Life insurance, and Vision insurance.
