Job description

This position supports daily operation of the range and events that occur throughout the year. Depending on the applicant, this position may be asked to work mainly outside doing maintenance of the facility, mainly indoors as a customer service representative or a blend of both.This position will require the applicant to provide and ensure quality customer service and provide information and assistance to visitors. May be responsible for greeting customers, selling day/annual passes, scheduling, general maintenance and cleaning of public facilities including restrooms, vault toilets, picnic areas, ranges, etc.. May operate and perform routine maintenance on state-owned vehicles, UTVs, and equipment. May also assist with carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical work, general landscape duties and transporting materials/supplies and performs other duties as assigned.THIS POSITION WORKS UP TO 40 HOURS PER WEEK & MAY BE UP TO 9-MONTHS IN DURATION.Job Duties may include:

  • Learning gun safety and range safety rules and be able to report violations.

  • Greeting customers, answering phones, selling day/annual passes, scheduling/permitting/data entry.

  • Cleaning of public facilities including restrooms, vault toilets, picnic areas, ranges, etc.

  • Building/fixing fence, hanging signs, repairing target systems, filling clay throwers, etc.

  • Exposure to weather –Working outdoors is essential, this position will often be exposed to inclement weather, heat and cold, rain, snow etc.

  • Contact with Others –Most of the fieldwork is done independently, however exposure to the public is common.

  • Coordinate or Lead Others – This position may be asked to organize seasonal or volunteer work crews.

  • Exposure to herbicides (spraying weeds), loud noises- Personal protective equipment is provided.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Must possess and maintain a valid Colorado driver’s license and provide a current motor vehicle report

  • Basic computer knowledge- knowledge of Google Suite preferred

  • Willing to work outside during inclement weather

  • Ability to work with little or no supervision

  • Must be able to lift 35-50 pounds repeatedly during the course of a single workday

  • First Aid and CPR certifications may be required- Will be provided

  • Must be able to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays

  • Must possess strong interpersonal communication skills

  • Pursuant to the DNR-120 Fleet and Driving Standards Administrative Directive (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1W0g2QAGmusbXBJzL3HxhGitIZOEKnwhrFnx9GqVcQHA/preview?tab=t.0) , any worker who will be expected to drive a State-owned vehicle is responsible for maintaining a safe driving record and a valid driver license prior to driving any State-owned vehicle.
