Job description

The iRhythm Systems Quality Assurance Team is looking for a Senior Test Automation (SDET) Team Lead to help drive quality execution across complex software releases supporting iRhythm’s cardiac monitoring platform. In this role you will lead end-to-end test planning, coordination, strategy, execution tracking, and release readiness activities. This role combines technical depth with strong project leadership capabilities.

In this hands-on leadership role, you’ll guide a team of SDETs embedded in backend-focused teams, shaping the development and execution of testing activities for some of our most impactful projects.

Your team will contribute to scalable test frameworks, design automated testing solutions for applications supporting the cardiac monitoring device lifecycle and collaborate closely with Software Development and DevOps to build resilient continuous integration pipelines. We are seeking someone who is highly organized, and an excellent communicator.

At iRhythm, every innovation is rooted in improving health outcomes and elevating the patient experience. If you’re energized by automation, cross-functional teamwork, and purpose-driven technology, this is your chance to make a meaningful impact-helping shape the future of healthcare through code.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead end-to-end test planning for software releases across multiple backend and platform services teams
  • Define release-level test scope, strategy, timelines
  • Drive alignment on dependencies, priorities, environments, and release milestones
  • Identify quality risks early and drive mitigation plans
  • Escalate release blockers and quality concerns to stakeholders
  • Lead effective verification strategies across manual and automated testing efforts, including API and integration testing for backend platform services
  • Champion initiatives that reduce manual testing effort and improve efficiency
  • Organize and report on testing efforts using tools like Jira and Jama
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to share results and align efforts
  • Contribute to processes that support the medical device development lifecycle
  • Ensure testing activities and documentation align with processes supporting the medical device software development lifecycle and regulatory compliance expectations

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in test automation and software testing, with strong expertise in validating complex software systems and releases
  • Proficiency with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, TestNG)
  • Fluency in object-oriented programming languages, especially Java or C#
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., GitLab, Jenkins, Azure DevOps)
  • Proven experience leading testing efforts for large-scale software releases or cross-functional development programs
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate testing activities across multiple teams, manage competing priorities, and drive execution to meet release timelines
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to clearly communicate quality status, risks, and priorities
  • Passion for building scalable quality processes, improving team effectiveness, and driving continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ability to create and maintain documentation that is both accurate and compliant
  • Experience in the medical device space is a plus

Benefits & conditions

Actual compensation may vary depending on job-related factors including knowledge, skills, experience, and work location.

Estimated Pay Range $138,000.00 - $180,000.00
