Director - IT Strategy Consulting - AI

Experteer Overview In this role you will lead AI-focused client engagements at the nexus of strategy, technology, and enterprise transformation. You’ll act as a trusted advisor to C-suite stakeholders, translating Gartner research into actionable AI strategy and delivering measurable business outcomes. You will guide delivery teams, shape governance for responsible AI, and contribute to Gartner’s AI Center of Excellence. This is a hands-on leadership role with a focus on real-world AI deployments at scale. Compensation / Benefits * Manage end-to-end AI engagements from scoping to implementation oversight, ensuring quality and timely delivery * Serve as the executive point of contact and credible authority on enterprise AI adoption with senior stakeholders * Translate ambiguous business problems into structured, decision-ready recommendations * Lead AI enablement strategy, operating-model design, workflow transformation, and use-case prioritization * Advise on opportunities, risks, constraints, and trade-offs in deploying AI at enterprise scale * Maintain hands-on fluency across the modern AI stack and leading vendor ecosystems * Provide technical depth on AI-enabled platforms and integration with enterprise systems * Link technology choices to ROI, TCO, risk posture, and change management implications * Shape AI governance and responsible-AI frameworks including model risk and data privacy * Stay ahead of market movements and feed insights back into Gartner research and client conversations * Support business development through pipeline generation, scoping, and bid leadership * Mentor multidisciplinary teams and contribute to the AI Center of Excellence with scalable methodologies * Lead, develop, and scale internal AI capabilities across regions and industries Tasks * 10+ years in management consulting, technology strategy, or enterprise transformation with recent AI/data focus * Proven ability to lead C-level conversations and manage multimillion-dollar engagements * Industry depth in manufacturing, financial services, healthcare, high-tech, professional services, or public sector * Strong technical literacy to bridge IT and business leadership * Proven track record in AI strategy, data strategy, operating-model design, or large-scale AI/ML implementations * Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree (MBA, MS in CS/Data Science, or equivalent) strongly preferred * Exceptional structured thinking, executive communication, and storytelling/deck-building skills Key requirements * hybrid work environment * generous PTO * 401k match up to $7,200 per year * stock purchase plan at a discount * competitive compensation * opportunity for career growth and impact
