Software Engineer

Experteer Overview In this role you design, build, and test software for a satellite resource management system, collaborating with program managers and senior engineers. You will ship modular software and improve existing components as part of an international program. The role offers remote or hybrid work with locations in Colorado Springs or Bethesda, and meaningful work on mission-critical systems. You will grow hands-on experience with satellite communications and contribute to robust, scalable software in a fast-paced team. Compensation / Benefits * Design and develop new software modules or enhancements * Develop unit tests and perform code reviews * Integrate and test software components within the delivery cycle * Debug software and fix defects identified during integration, test, and review Tasks * Design and develop robust, maintainable software using C++17 or newer * At least 2 years of experience with Linux and C++17 * Strong understanding of software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms * Experience with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows * Experience using CMake * Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills (probability & statistics, linear algebra, multivariable calculus) * Exposure to software application development on Linux and Web platforms * Exposure to agile and incremental software engineering practices Key requirements * Generous PTO with yearly increases * Flex time where contract permits * 11 paid holidays and floating holidays * 401(k) match up to 4% * Tuition and certifications support up to $12,000 annually * Premium healthcare with HSA and life insurance
