Data Security Analyst

Experteer Overview As Data Security Analyst, you will help define and enforce data protection standards across the enterprise. You will work within the Information Security Architecture team to secure data across collaboration platforms and AI-enabled workflows. Your work centers on classifications, DLP, and governance using Microsoft Purview and M365. You will partner with engineers to implement security controls that scale with the business, delivering measurable improvements in data protection. This role offers visibility and impact in a hybrid work environment. Compensation / Benefits * Identify and protect sensitive data at rest, in motion, and in use across Microsoft platforms * Configure and maintain Purview features-data classification, sensitive data types, labels, and DLP policies * Assess data exposure risks related to Copilot, AI features, and automated workflows * Implement policy changes guided by Security Architecture and Privacy teams * Monitor protection alerts, investigate issues, and escalate findings * Participate in data security incidents, assisting evidence gathering and remediation * Provide guidance to engineering/business teams on secure handling of data * Execute recurring operational tasks, validation, and control reviews * Contribute to runbooks, SOPs, and technical documentation Tasks * 5+ years in cyber security, data protection, or security operations * 1+ years hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview or similar data protection tools * 1+ years familiarity with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and collaboration platforms (Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams) * Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field * Experience supporting data leakage or oversharing investigations (preferred) * Basic PowerShell or scripting experience (preferred) * Knowledge of privacy regulations and data handling requirements (preferred) Key requirements *
