Job description

As an Engineering Specialist, Automation - You will apply designs, implement, and optimize automated control systems, robotics, and industrial machinery to maximize manufacturing efficiency, product quality, and operational safety.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with advanced material-handling technologies, including:

  • Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) - Automated Guided Vehicles(AGVs)

  • Automated dock systems (autoloading/unloading, dock scheduling, smart docks

  • Ability to evaluate, pilot, implement, and optimize new logistics technologies

  • Experience defining functional requirements, layouts, and traffic logic for AMR/AGV systems

  • Understanding of fleet management systems, task orchestration, and exception handling

  • Ability to coordinate with automation vendors and system integrators

  • Experience with ASRS material storage/retrieval systems

  • PLC experience

Systems & Digital Integration

  • Experience integrating AMR/AGV systems with ERP, WMS, and MES

  • Working knowledge of PLC interfaces, sensors, scanners, and safety systems, preference with Allen Bradley and Siemens

  • Strong data analysis skills (Excel, Power BI, SQL, or similar) to monitor system performance and KPIs

Process Improvement & Project Leadership

  • Lead or support automation, digitalization, and smart factory initiatives, + Bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related experience

  • 3+ years of experience in automation, or manufacturing operations (related internships or co-op experience included)

  • Experience in high-volume manufacturing or automotive environments preferred

  • Day-Shift but must be able to work alternate shifts as business needs dictate.

This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $84,480-141,360.
