Job description

Experteer Overview In this role you will design and govern enterprise semantic models on the Microsoft Fabric platform, delivering scalable data products that power the firm’s analytics. You will lead a small team of report developers, translate stakeholder needs into robust data models, and enable AI-assisted analytics including NLQ and Copilot capabilities. You’ll collaborate across finance, operations, and IT to ensure model quality, governance, and AI readiness. This role combines deep technical execution with leadership in a fast-growing, innovative environment at Aprio. Compensation / Benefits * Design and build enterprise semantic models in Microsoft Fabric (Direct Lake, Datasets, Dataflows Gen2) * Develop star and snowflake schemas optimized for Power BI performance and NLQ discoverability * Author complex DAX measures, calculated columns, and KPI logic with AI-friendly naming * Establish a governed semantic layer across reporting domains (finance, operations, marketing, HR, growth) * Implement incremental refresh, aggregations, and query reduction strategies * Architect models to support NLQ via Q&A, Copilot, and Azure OpenAI integration * Lead adoption of Power BI Copilot and Fabric AI features, including AI-generated summaries and anomaly detection * Coach and mentor a team of 4+ report developers; conduct code/model reviews; share standards * Lead requirements gathering with stakeholders and translate into data model roadmaps for AI-enabled analytics * Own semantic model layer within Aprio’s Fabric Lakehouse and enforce governance, security, and metadata standards * Coordinate with data engineering for clean source data and AI consumption; monitor model health and usage * Promote responsible AI use and data literacy across the organization Tasks * 5-8 years of experience in designing and publishing Power BI semantic models in enterprise environments * Proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M), and data modeling concepts (star schema, relationships, cardinality) * Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, Lakehouses, Dataflows Gen2, Direct Lake) * Experience with Power BI Q&A, linguistic schema authoring, and synonym configuration for NLQ * Familiarity with Power BI Copilot, Microsoft 365 Copilot, or Azure OpenAI Service integrations with Fabric data sources * Ability to translate business requirements into data models and AI-readiness roadmaps * Experience coaching or mentoring junior analysts or developers * Strong communication skills; able to explain AI capabilities to non-technical audiences * Familiarity with data governance, RLS, dataset certification, and deployment pipelines * Understanding of responsible AI, data privacy, and AI output auditability in analytics Key requirements * Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance on day one * Flexible Spending Accounts and Dependent Care Account * 401k with Profit Sharing * 9+ holidays and discretionary time off * Parental Leave for primary and secondary caregivers * Tuition Assistance and CPA support with cash incentive on completion
