Job description

InfoReliance is currently seeking a Database Administrator (DBA) to support an existing customer in the development and enhancement of a USMC personnel management system. This includes analysis, design, development, testing, and configuration management with an emphasis on database architecture and design. The Database Administrator (DBA) administers, maintains and utilizes policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of multiple Oracle DB 12c implementation and administration. Specifically, the DBA is responsible for:

  • Monitoring database and ensuring operational state with minimum downtime
  • Monitoring database for speed and accessibility and identifying potential issues that would make the database unstable or unavailable
  • Optimizing data queries and data loading by monitoring table space usage and adjusting table spaces
  • Implementing modifications to the database, as required, by monitoring and reviewing error reports to enhance the operational speed of the database (Modify existing data schemas and table, data loading into new or existing tables)
  • Create/Modify/Delete user accounts and apply privileges and monitor and adjust security configurations
  • Backup/restore data/tables/schema from the database, backup entire database, backup server operating system/state; Performing RMAN database backups and recovery
  • Data restoration
  • Monitor/implement security for database software/OS such as vulnerability patches, as well as anti-virus software and definitions This position is on a project with the United States Marine Corps (USMC). The work location is Marine Corps Base Quantico, VA. The DBA will be a member of 20+ member team that provides full-life cycle software development, system maintenance, and support to a USMC enterprise-wide system. JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • ACTIVE TOP SECRET CLEARANCE
  • COMPTIA SECURITY + CERTIFICATION

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Three(3) years of experience with Unix/Linux administration
  • Five(5) years of experience with Oracle Database
  • Oracle Database 12c Administration
  • Oracle SOA Suite 12c Implementation
  • Deep understanding of the Oracle database, related utilities and tools
  • A good understanding of the underlying operating system
  • A good knowledge of the physical database design
  • Ability to perform both Oracle and operating system performance tuning and monitoring
  • Knowledge of ALL Oracle backup and recovery scenarios
  • A good knowledge of Oracle security management
  • A good knowledge of how Oracle acquires and manages resources
  • A good knowledge Oracle data integrity
  • Experience in code migration, database change management and data management through the various stages of the development life cycle
  • A sound knowledge of both database and system performance tuning
  • Good communication skills with management, development teams, systems administrators, and clients
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines
  • Experience working in the DoD environment
  • Oracle DBA certification
  • Minimum Security + certified.
