Job description

Experteer Overview As a Cybersecurity Engineer Senior Principal, you will design, prototype, and deliver advanced cyber capabilities for mission-driven outcomes. You will act as a technical driver in high-impact initiatives, shaping concepts and architectures while collaborating with CTO leadership. You’ll conduct hands-on research, build cyber tools, and guide engineering teams toward secure, scalable solutions. This role offers exposure to cutting-edge cyber work that supports national security missions and program success. Compensation / Benefits * Design, develop, and evaluate complex cyber systems aligned with mission goals * Prototype and research new cyber capabilities and tools * Conduct vulnerability and threat research to inform defensive/offensive approaches * Lead testing, deployment, and sustainment of cyber tools and mission systems * Create engineering artifacts (system designs, dataflows, APIs, CONOPS) to address operational needs * Develop automation and software to support cyber operations across environments * Serve as a senior technical authority shaping prototypes and engineering approaches * Collaborate with program teams to improve cybersecurity operations and capability deployment * Mentor engineers in advanced cyber techniques and contribute to IRAD efforts * Review and provide feedback on technical artifacts and proposals to ensure alignment with goals Tasks * 10+ years of related cyber, systems engineering, or mission-focused technical leadership experience * Significant hands-on experience in at least three areas (e.g., vulnerability analysis, cyber automation, threat analysis, incident response, enterprise/cloud security) * Experience leading or contributing to R&D activities * Experience across full systems engineering lifecycle (trade studies, prototype development, pilots) * Ability to produce security architecture diagrams, CONOPS, OV-1s, APIs, and system descriptions * Excellent verbal and written communication; able to interface with executives and work autonomously * Understanding of U.S. Government cyber authorities and integration of cyber, intelligence, and mission planning * U.S. Citizenship; TS/SCI with ability to obtain polygraph * Education: Bachelor of Science or advanced degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent experience * Must be able to obtain TS/SCI with polygraph Key requirements * medical plan options with HSAs * dental and vision plans * 401(k) with company match * flex work weeks * paid time off (vacation, sick, personal) * parenteral, military, bereavement, jury duty leave
