Job description
Experteer Overview Senior Data Architect at First Citizens Bank leads the design and implementation of enterprise-scale data architectures to enable trusted, governed, and business-ready data. You will shape the Nexus analytics platform across ingestion, storage, processing, and analytics, partnering with engineering to drive scalable, compliant data solutions. You’ll tackle complex data modeling, platform modernization, and AI-ready data foundations in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This role offers the chance to impact data governance, data product thinking, and big-data modernization at scale. Compensation / Benefits * Define and evolve enterprise data architecture standards and reference architectures * Lead end-to-end design across operational, analytical, regulatory, and AI use cases * Drive consistency across data acquisition, storage, transformation, governance, and consumption * Architect data ingestion, storage (S3, Snowflake), and processing layers for real-time and batch workloads * Design DBT-based transformation standards and orchestration patterns (Astronomer/Airflow) * Develop data models (1st/2nd normal form, Star/Snowflake, Data Vault 2.0) and canonical/domain models * Embed metadata, data governance, lineage, and data quality into architecture * Lead architecture reviews, mentor engineers, and establish reusable frameworks * Enable data products and self-service through governed data assets * Participate in platform modernization, performance optimization, and data observability Tasks * Extensive experience in data engineering/architecture for enterprise-scale data platforms * Proven leadership in architecture design and implementation across cloud data platforms * Strong background in data governance, metadata management, and data quality * Experience with Snowflake, AWS, DBT, Qlik Replicate, and orchestration tools (Airflow/Astronomer) * Knowledge of Data Vault 2.0, CANONICAL/Domain-driven modeling, and data mesh concepts * Ability to partner with governance teams and business domains to drive data products * Experience with API-based integration, CDC, event-driven architectures, and real-time ingestion * Strong communication, cross-functional collaboration, and mentoring skills Key requirements *
