Senior Software Engineer (Backend)

Experteer Overview As a Senior Backend Engineer at GitGuardian you will own end-to-end delivery of platform core features that scale across thousands of developers. You’ll work within the Core Squad to ensure authentication, provisioning, RBAC, APIs, and billing stay reliable as the product grows. You’ll migrate customers to platform-centric solutions, scale GitHub check runs, and evolve the plan architecture while shaping the external interface through OAuth2 and public APIs. This is a hands-on, architecture-focused role with impact on reliability, performance, and cross-team collaboration. Pay / Benefits * Own end-to-end delivery of projects from scoping to monitoring * Migrate customers to the platform without disrupting alerting channels * Scale GitHub check runs handling API rate limits and large merge requests * Redesign plan architecture enabling modular offers without engineering intervention * Open the platform externally with OAuth2, public APIs and integrations * Evolve a large Django monolith with dependency inversion and typing improvements * Rethink self-service onboarding to improve value moment for new workspaces * Build and improve health check systems for integrations * Mentor juniors and contribute to technical decisions across the team Tasks * 5+ years of experience in web development with strong Django (or FastAPI/Flask) proficiency * Experience building web apps, task orchestration, distributed systems, and large data flows * Ability to own a feature end-to-end from scoping to monitoring * Dynamic, proactive mindset and strong communication in English and French * Strong proficiency in AI-assisted development workflows * Experience with large monolithic codebases and architecture best practices is a plus (not required) Key requirements * BSPCE package * Lunch voucher * Sponsored Wellpass * Health insurance for children * Home office stipend * Yearly holiday allowance
