Experteer Overview In this role you will help launch and scale a self-serve CPC bidding marketplace within ABOUT YOU’s Retail Media Tech team. You’ll build core backend services from day one using PHP 8.2+ and Laravel, shaping the technical foundation as traffic and revenue grow. You’ll work closely with product, frontend, and tech leads to translate ad-tech needs into reliable APIs and high-throughput pipelines. This is a greenfield opportunity with real impact on monetization and product performance. Pay / Benefits * Write PHP 8.2+ and Laravel-based backend services and RESTful APIs for the CPC marketplace and brand tools * Develop comprehensive unit and integration tests; participate in code reviews and refactor for maintainability * Collaborate with product, frontend engineers, and senior tech leads to break down features and estimate tasks * Adhere to repository structures, conventions, and CI/CD steps to ensure safe production deployments * Monitor application health, debug backend issues, and keep real-time ad serving endpoints fast and reliable * Integrate AI dev tools to speed up boilerplate creation, tests, and problem-solving Tasks * Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience) * At least 3 years of backend software engineering experience * Strong experience with PHP (8.2+) and Laravel * Experience building secure RESTful APIs with authentication/authorization and rate limiting * Good knowledge of relational databases, SQL queries, indexing, and migrations * Familiarity with logging, error tracking, and monitoring (Datadog) * Comfort with AI development tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Gemini) to speed up tasks * Ownership mindset from implementation to production * Pragmatic approach prioritizing clean, reliable code over over-engineering * Clear communication to explain technical details and trade-offs Key requirements *
